STFC Town Planning Framework
UKRI seeks a master planning consultant to support estate-wide planning and development across six STFC science campuses through 2040.
The Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC), part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), manages a nationally significant portfolio of scientific facilities across the UK. This commission aims to provide long-term master planning and advisory services for all STFC sites, guiding their spatial, environmental, and infrastructure development over a four-year framework term.
The successful consultant will lead regular and strategic updates to Development Plans and Masterplans, ensuring integration of decarbonisation, biodiversity, infrastructure upgrades, and amenity improvements. The role involves working closely with STFC’s in-house property and planning teams, providing advice on site layout, spatial capacity, and sustainability integration within complex scientific campus contexts. Deliverables include quarterly reporting, annual reviews, and coordination with other consultants on technical aspects such as ecology, drainage, and access strategy.
