The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is undertaking the relocation of its maintenance yard in Wake County, which is currently situated at the intersection of Blue Ridge Road and Trinity Road. The existing property is slated for transfer to the Department of Agriculture once the new NCDOT maintenance facilities are established. This significant project involves comprehensive site work and the construction of entirely new maintenance facilities at an undeveloped location on Poole Road. The chosen Poole Road site spans approximately 72.6 acres of land, characterised by a partially wooded landscape and the presence of a pond, providing a substantial area for the development of modern and efficient operational infrastructure for the NCDOT.
