The Buildner’s Unbuilt Award 2025
Architectural competition for unbuild ideas and other conceptual designs.
The BN Unbuilt Award 2025 is an open international architectural ideas competition celebrating creative and innovative unbuilt projects. It honours visionary architectural concepts that, while unrealised, represent the imaginative and conceptual thinking fundamental to the architectural profession. Participants are invited to submit small, medium, or large-scale unbuilt projects—ranging from conceptual ideas to fully developed designs—which may never have been constructed but embody the future of architectural design. The competition champions design exploration free from site constraints and offers a global platform for recognition through publication, awards, and media exposure.

Consultant Team
There is no requirement for a multidisciplinary team. Submissions may come from individuals or teams and are open to all, regardless of professional qualifications.
Submission Criteria
– Category Winners (Small, Medium, Large): €20,000 each
– Honourable Mentions per Category (5 each): €1,000 each
– Student Winners per Category: €5,000 each
– Best Presentation Award (all categories): €10,000
Additional Awards:
– Feature in a printed book
– Publicity campaign
– Trophy by designer Germans Ermičs
– 3–6 month remote ArchDaily Internship (selected by ArchDaily)
Deliverables for the Competition
One (1) A2 landscape-oriented presentation board (max. 10MB) including:
– Design visuals: renderings, diagrams, sketches, site plans, sections, elevations
– Project description, design rationale, and sustainability strategies
– Information on site context, dimensions, and environmental considerations
Optional:
– Video and questionnaire (for publicity if selected as a winner)
– CV (for eligibility to ArchDaily internship)
