Portlaoise Social Housing
An open tender for an architect-led design team to deliver social housing at the former County Hotel site, Portlaoise
Laois County Council seeks an architect-led design team to redevelop the derelict County Hotel site on Main Street, Portlaoise, into a high-quality social housing scheme. The project will deliver 11 apartments (1- and 2-bed units) and associated communal/enterprise space at ground level. The scheme will clear the existing protected structure façade and construct a new three-storey, 864 m² residential building. The development aligns with the Department of Housing’s “Housing for All” plan and is being delivered under a single-stage approval process within the Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF). Programme stages include detailed design, tender action, contractor appointment, construction management, and handover.
