Oxford Town Hall
Oxford City Council are seeking quotations for a feasibility study for refurbishment works to the roof and external envelope of Oxford Town Hall.
Oxford Town Hall is a Grade II* Listed building in the city centre, completed in 1897. An extension to the building, at the corner of St Aldates and High Street, was added in the 1930’s and is included in the listing. The Town Hall provides accommodation to a wide variety of civic, cultural, and commercial uses.
The Town Hall is covered by a variety of pitched and flat roofs over different parts of the building. Patch repairs have been undertaken over recent years to address reoccurring leaks however, these temporary patches are reaching the end of their life. A more holistic approach is now being proposed to mitigate future defects and enhance the longevity and performance of the roof.
The Town Hall is one of Oxford City Council’s largest assets and in recent years has become its primary office space. The proposed work will ensure that the roof and external envelope is maintained and upgraded to a high standard to ensure that it is fit for the future.
