MICROHOME 2026 International Architecture Ideas Competition
International open ideas competition for a 25 m² microhome concept, aimed at architects and related built-environment creatives.
The competition seeks conceptual proposals for a self-contained microhome with a maximum internal floor area of 25 m², intended to accommodate a young professional couple. The project focuses on domestic quality at extreme compact scale, addressing living, sleeping, cooking and sanitary functions within a highly constrained footprint, with courtyards or enclosed internal courts counted within the total area. No specific site is defined, allowing proposals to explore transferable spatial, structural and construction strategies rather than site-specific responses. Both prefabricated and on-site construction approaches are permitted, and entries may consider modular extension beyond the initial unit, provided the core 25 m² dwelling remains the primary focus.
