Land Use Plan, Havelberg
The Hanseatic City of Havelberg in Germany is developing a comprehensive land use plan for its 14,916-hectare municipality, integrating renewable energy zones. Deadline 14 Sep 2026
The Hanseatic City of Havelberg is undertaking the crucial task of creating a new land use plan (Flächennutzungsplan - FNP) for its entire 14,916-hectare unitary municipality in Germany. The existing plans, over three decades old, are outdated and do not encompass the full municipal area or adequately address contemporary challenges. This comprehensive planning initiative aims to adapt to evolving urban structures, demographic shifts, and climate protection goals. A central focus is securing sufficient development areas for residential, commercial, and industrial uses, alongside promoting renewable energy. The plan specifically designates approximately 759 hectares for wind energy and 89 hectares for ground-mounted photovoltaic systems. This project aligns with the city's Integrated Urban Development Concept (ISEK) 2035, ensuring a cohesive and sustainable future for Havelberg's 6,424 residents. The planning services will be commissioned in stages, covering phases 1 to 3 of the German fee schedule for architects and engineers (HOAI).
