André Estienne Retirement Home, Cadenet
For the extension and restructuring of the André Estienne Retirement Home, this architectural competition was procured by the city of Cadenet, France.
The forthcoming André Estienne Retirement Home project in Cadenet, France, envisions the transformation and expansion of an existing care facility to unite two ageing establishments into one modern, human-centred residence. The future complex will provide 141 beds, including specialised dementia care units, and feature a fully upgraded production kitchen designed for efficient, forward-flow operation. The scheme includes the refurbishment of existing buildings, construction of a new 2.7k m² extension, and reorganisation of landscaped outdoor areas. Designed to remain operational throughout construction, the project prioritises comfort, accessibility, and sustainable performance. Through this two-stage restricted architectural competition, a multidisciplinary design team will be selected to deliver a contemporary healthcare environment that reflects dignity, functionality, and architectural quality in the heart of Provence.
