Laois County Council is seeking to appoint a single service provider, an urban planning-led multi-disciplinary design team, including a Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP), for the initial stages of the Mountrath Town Centre Public Realm Improvement Scheme. The scope of work encompasses Project Stages (i) to (ii b). Stage (i) involves developing a Town Spatial Strategy for Mountrath Town. Stage (ii a) focuses on the Town Centre Design, specifically targeting the core area identified in Drawing No. 100. Stage (ii b) will cover Developed Design and Planning (Part 8). The appointed team will be responsible for producing all necessary design documents, drawings, surveys, and reports, which will be submitted to the Contracting Authority for use in subsequent project stages. Future stages, including detailed design, tender action, contract award, construction, and handover, will be subject to a separate tender process and depend on the availability of funding. The project aims to deliver a new design for the public realm, incorporating nature-based solutions, increased biodiversity, and active travel infrastructure for the town centre.
