The Technical University of Sofia has launched a public tender for the detailed technical design and construction-stage author’s supervision of a new Sports Complex at its Plovdiv Branch campus, located at 63 Saint Petersburg Boulevard in the Gladno Pole district of Plovdiv. The project will transform a designated university plot (PI 56784.529.118) into a contemporary multi-functional sports environment serving more than 2,500 students. Conceived as an integrated campus facility, the development comprises a Sports Hall and Adjacent Sports Facilities, designed to address the current shortage of athletic infrastructure while establishing a distinctive architectural presence within the urban setting. The brief calls for a durable, energy-conscious and contextually responsive building that integrates carefully with the surrounding campus fabric and landscape.

The Sports Hall will accommodate a minimum 1,000 m² playing field with adaptable configuration, spectator seating for at least 280 people including accessible positions, a fitness hall of no less than 350 m², and associated ancillary spaces such as changing rooms, technical areas and reception facilities. Externally, the scheme includes football and tennis courts, landscaped areas and a small café pavilion. The appointed design team will develop the client’s existing outline architectural concept into a full Technical Design package across all disciplines, including architecture, structure, building services (electrical, plumbing and drainage, heating, ventilation and air conditioning), energy performance, fire safety strategy, landscape design and a detailed Bill of Quantities, followed by author’s supervision throughout construction until completion.
