Gmina Zawiercie is developing a new sports and entertainment hall in Zawiercie, Poland, incorporating a multi-functional underground shelter and garage facility. Deadline 02 Oct 2026
Gmina Zawiercie is commissioning a significant design and build project for a new sports and entertainment hall in Zawiercie, Poland. This multi-phase development encompasses the creation of a modern facility which also integrates a multi-functional underground space, designated as a 'U2' hiding place, designed to serve alternately as an underground car park. The initial phase of the project involves the construction of the main hall building, complete with its integrated underground shelter, along with extensive external infrastructure. This includes the demolition of an existing structure, rebuilding public road access, and establishing new access roads, car parks, footpaths, cycling paths, and multi-functional public squares with disabled access ramps and stairs. It also incorporates waste management facilities, dedicated entrances to the underground area, bus and coach stops, bicycle storage, comprehensive technical utilities, and even a toboggan and ski hill. Subsequent phases will see the construction of additional parking areas, further access roads, and a new tennis court complex, alongside provisions for future commercial development within the site. The overall programme duration is 27 months.
