Cumberland Council's Programme Management Office plans to appoint two professional services providers to manage its prioritised capital improvements (PCI) programme for school properties during the 2027/28 financial year. These providers will include Architects, Building Surveyors, and Mechanical & Electrical Engineers. While much of the construction work is expected to occur during school holidays, particularly summer breaks, some tasks may proceed within live school environments with prior agreement, a possibility to be explored during the scoping phase. The council will distribute projects evenly between the successful consultants, balancing them by number and estimated construction value. The contract is set to begin on 23rd November 2026, spanning two years with an estimated maximum value of £1.5 million, focusing on essential upgrades across various school locations.
