The City of Fort Worth in the USA is developing a new downtown library, encompassing comprehensive design services for a 22,000 to 30,000 sq ft facility, including significant demolition. Deadline 15 Oct 2026
The City of Fort Worth is undertaking a significant project to construct a new downtown library facility. This ambitious development envisions a substantial building, ranging from 22,000 to 30,000 square feet, designed with future expansion in mind. The new library will feature an array of spaces to serve the community, including dedicated community rooms, ample storage solutions, and flexible multipurpose areas. The selected firm will be responsible for providing comprehensive design services. This includes initial program development, detailed architectural and engineering designs, and coordinating audio-visual and security systems in collaboration with the City’s IT staff. Furthermore, the scope encompasses budget estimation, compilation, and recommendations for all necessary furniture, furnishings, and equipment. An integral part of the project involves the demolition of three existing structures, an associated retaining wall, and current parking areas, which must be seamlessly integrated into the overall project construction documents. The consultant will also manage coordination regarding demolition limits, site restoration, utility impacts, hazardous materials, and project sequencing. Emphasis is placed on integrating green site improvements to support the library's sustainability, landscape, stormwater management, pedestrian circulation, and outdoor-use objectives within the defined project boundaries.
