The Communauté d'agglomération Pays Basque is seeking architectural and engineering services for the comprehensive modernisation of the Atabal contemporary music venue in Biarritz, France. This significant project focuses on renovating, reorganising, and enhancing the existing 1,500 m² building, originally constructed in 2005. Key objectives include expanding the main concert hall's capacity from 700 to 1,200 spectators, introducing additional music rehearsal studios, and reconfiguring certain areas to create a new 300-seat performance space. A crucial aspect of the renovation is the integration of energy and environmental upgrades, such as the installation of a rooftop photovoltaic power plant, all while preserving the building's current acoustic quality. The appointed team will be responsible for the design and supervision of the entire project, which is expected to commence in October 2026 and last for 48 months.
