Whitevale Baths
Restoration and extension of a historic listed bathhouse in Glasgow to create a community hub and permanent base for PEEK charity.
The project involves the restoration and adaptive reuse of the Category B-listed Whitevale Baths (1902), located in Glasgow’s Gallowgate area, alongside the construction of a new rear extension. The retained historic western wing—currently derelict but structurally stabilised—will house primary public and community-facing functions, while the new extension will provide serviced accommodation including circulation, WCs, kitchens, meeting rooms, and staff offices. The scheme is being procured through a restricted procedure, with the initial commission covering RIBA Stages 1–3 under a National Lottery Heritage Fund development phase, with progression to later stages subject to further funding approval. The project aims to create a vibrant, inclusive community hub and permanent home for PEEK, addressing long-term deprivation and loss of identity in the area while conserving an important heritage asset.
