Urban Revitalisation, Dison
Open tender to appoint an architect-led team to deliver execution design and site supervision for an urban revitalisation scheme in Dison, Belgium.
Located in the centre of Dison, Belgium, the Urban Regeneration of Rue Albert Premier transforms a 6,050-square-metre former industrial site into a new public landscape that reconnects the lower and upper parts of the town. Set within a residential zone and backed by a steep embankment, the project introduces a landscaped urban park with generous pedestrian and cycling routes, public squares and “convivial spaces”, children’s play and sports areas, car and bicycle parking, and a panoramic urban lift providing step-free vertical connection across the site. The scheme aims to open the town centre towards the surrounding slopes, offering new outdoor amenities and improved permeability while reinforcing Dison’s urban identity.
The commission concerns the resumption of an already permitted project, with the concept design and planning approval in place. The appointed architect-led team is tasked with taking the project forward from execution design through to construction procurement, site supervision and final completion. The scope includes demolition of existing buildings and garages, soil remediation, integration of the approved decontamination strategy, coordination of public infrastructure and landscape works, and full health and safety coordination during design and construction. The project is publicly funded through regional urban development subsidies and must be delivered within a fixed construction budget and timeline, with completion required before the end of 2028.
