The Architect’s Stair, International Competition
International ideas competition inviting architects and designers to reinterpret the stair as an architectural concept, testing spatial narrative beyond function.
This international ideas competition calls for a conceptual rethinking of the stair as an architectural device rather than a technical or regulatory solution. Participants are invited to use the stair as a medium for spatial, cultural and philosophical expression, free from constraints of site, scale, budget or buildability.
The brief tests how movement, verticality and sequence can be reframed as architectural narrative. Proposals may be abstract or situated, speculative or symbolic, but must articulate a clear architectural position through the stair as a primary organising idea rather than a secondary circulation element.
