Competition Banner: Press kit for The Architect's Chair
The Architect’s Chair, International Competition
International ideas competition inviting architects and designers to distil architectural thinking into a single chair, testing ergonomics, craft and authorship beyond buildings.
This international ideas competition challenges architects and designers to design a single chair as a concentrated expression of architectural thinking. The brief reframes furniture as a testing ground for spatial logic, material judgement and ergonomic intent, asking entrants to translate architectural values into an object-scale proposition. Participants are invited to explore comfort, construction, adaptability and material innovation without a prescribed site or client. The competition positions the chair as both a functional object and a conceptual artefact, testing how architectural identity operates when stripped of programme, context and building scale.
