(Re)engaging Cities’ Landscapes for Cultural and Economic Vibrancy
UEH University, invites visionary proposals to reimagine and reconnect urban development with natural landscapes along the Cai River in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
This international student design competition is hosted by the Institute of Smart City and Management (ISCM) and UEH University. Under the 2025 theme, the challenge focuses on integrating cultural and economic vibrancy through architectural, landscape, and urban interventions. The competition seeks innovative designs that respond to ecological challenges while preserving and enhancing cultural heritage and the city's relationship with its waterfront and green spaces.

The competition is aimed at student teams:

Selected entries to be published by UEH Press in the Smart Urbanisms & Beyond book series.
Deliverables for the Competition:
– Interpretation of Existing Context
(Maps, collages, sketches – 2.5×5 km and 1.5×1.5 km scales)
– Schematic Urban Landscape Framework
(Vision for 2.5×5 km river corridor)
– Architectural, Landscape & Urban Design Proposals
(3D massing, ground floor plans, sections, renderings, infrastructure, mobility)
– Cultural and Economic Integration Detailing
(Sections, plans, illustrations showing cultural vibrancy strategies)
Each team must submit:
– 3 to 5 Panels (max 50MB each, following provided templates)
– Project description (max 500 words)
– English language required
– No videos accepted
