This two-year project, under the "Town Centre First" framework, aims to revitalize Rathdowney’s central square through a comprehensive suite of public realm upgrades, including a new pedestrian-focused pavilion, enhanced landscaping, sustainable drainage, traffic calming, and infrastructure improvements. The successful design team will be responsible for progressing the scheme from preliminary design through to detailed tender documentation, supporting statutory planning (Part 8), stakeholder consultation, and providing construction-ready documents. The project prioritizes increased pedestrian access, biodiversity, community use, and the integration of heritage-sensitive design, aiming to significantly enhance Rathdowney’s town centre as a vibrant, functional, and inclusive community hub.
