Pride Float 2025 – London Festival of Architecture
A design competition inviting architecture and design professionals to create a Pride Float celebrating LGBTQIA+ architects, to be showcased at Pride in London 2025
The London Festival of Architecture, in partnership with Architecture LGBT+, Freehold, and sponsored by Brookfield Properties, has launched a design competition for a Pride Float to represent and amplify LGBTQIA+ voices in the architectural profession. This initiative invites entries from students, emerging designers, and established professionals across London to envision a float that reflects inclusivity, celebrates identity, and responds to the 2025 festival theme, "Voices." The winning float design will be showcased in the Pride in London parade on July 5, 2025, with a total project budget of £8,000. Participants are encouraged to submit innovative, bold, and sustainable designs that integrate principles of the circular economy, and include structural safety features, speaker integration, and visibility on a 7.5-tonne dropside truck. The competition promotes not only design excellence but also equity and representation in the built environment, continuing a legacy of creative collaborations that have received wide acclaim and media attention. The project also provides opportunities for professional development, networking, and creative exposure in one of the world’s leading architecture festivals.
