Palais Rastede Renovation
A design tender for the staged refurbishment of a listed historic palace in Lower Saxony, including fire safety, reuse, and partial restoration.
The municipality of Rastede is seeking architectural services for the phased renovation of the historic Palais in Rastede, including adjacent heritage-listed auxiliary buildings such as the Schmiede (forge) and kleiner Marstall (small stable). The scope covers HOAI service phases 1–9, initially commissioning phases 1–4. The project entails sensitive interventions within a listed building used for events and cultural purposes. Works include refurbishment, spatial adaptation, fire safety upgrades, and the respectful reuse of historical fabric, based on a pre-established utilisation concept. Planning is set to begin in December 2025, with stage 1 (LPH 1–4) completion targeted for Q4 2026.
