New Fire and Rescue Centre, Mamers
Design competition to assign a multidisciplinary team for the new fire and rescue centre project, replacing the previous facility in Mamers, France.
The project proposes the construction of a new Fire and Rescue Centre and company headquarters in Mamers, France, replacing an outdated and poorly located existing station that currently limits operational efficiency. Located within the Bellevue industrial zone on a 5.27k m² site, the scheme will accommodate emergency response functions alongside administrative offices and a medical support unit. The brief calls for a robust, functional and clearly legible building that supports rapid deployment, efficient circulation, and separation of operational flows. The design must balance durability, low maintenance and architectural quality, while meeting current environmental standards and energy performance targets. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2028 following design development, with a 14-month build programme aimed at delivering a contemporary and efficient civic infrastructure.
