This tender seeks an architect-led design team to provide full consultancy services for the refurbishment, upgrade, and extension of Muine Bheag Fire Station in Carlow, Ireland.
The fire station, originally built in the 1970s and extended in 1988, is no longer suitable for modern fire and rescue operations. The redevelopment will involve extensive structural repairs, internal reconfiguration, energy upgrades, an appliance bay extension, and compliance updates to fire safety and accessibility standards. The successful design team will be responsible for all statutory applications (Planning, DAC, Fire), PSDP, and Assigned Certifier duties, and must coordinate a phased construction programme that allows continuous operation of the fire station. A high emphasis is placed on energy performance, safety, and sustainability.
