Cringle Dock Waste Transfer Station
A procurement for architectural services to support the redevelopment of Cringle Dock waste transfer station within London’s dynamic Nine Elms regeneration zone.
The Western Riverside Waste Authority (WRWA) is seeking architectural consultancy services for the redevelopment of the Cringle Dock Waste Transfer Station in Battersea. Located within the Nine Elms regeneration area and adjacent to Battersea Power Station, the existing 1971-built facility no longer aligns with the surrounding urban environment. The project aims to deliver a new, visually integrated, high-performance waste transfer station potentially located on the adjacent safeguarded Kirtling Wharf. The architectural adviser will guide the Authority through all RIBA stages, acting as “Concept Guardians” to uphold design integrity and ensure operational viability. The commission spans concept design, planning approvals, procurement support, construction oversight, and post-handover activities, across a 7-year programme (2026–2033), with potential extensions up to 13 years in total.
