Beckenham Housing
The London Borough of Bromley is inviting tenders to deliver Beckenham Car Park Housing Development.
The scheme proposes to deliver 35 affordable units across a single six-storey building. The site has an area of 0.1ha and is located off Beckenham Road in a suburban high street setting between the District Centres of Beckenham and Clock House. The site includes a 40-space car park, a detached two-storey building (Lewis House) and associated porta-cabins.
Notable adjacent buildings include a leisure centre to the east (the Spa at Beckenham), a Grade II Listed building at 28 and 28A Beckenham Road to the south-east (Venue 28), and a seven-storey residential block to the south-west (Registry House, formerly Bourne House, and which has been recently converted from commercial to residential use). The Elm Road Conservation Area is located to the south of the site along Beckenham Road.
The proposal also includes a flexible workspace on the ground floor and small community plaza at the southern end of the building.
