Neurological Centre Rehabilitation and Modernisation, Bottrop
Knappschaftskrankenhaus Bottrop GmbH in Germany is modernising its neurological early rehabilitation unit, focusing on expanding and qualitatively improving its treatment spectrum within the main hospital building. Deadline 28 Sep 2026
The Knappschaftskrankenhaus Bottrop GmbH plans to expand and modernise its neurological early rehabilitation unit on the ground floor of its main building, converting a former ward. This project aims to enhance and improve the quality of neurological treatment offered by the hospital. The scope includes technical building equipment (TGA) planning services for plant groups 440 and 450, covering planning phases 3-8 according to HOAI regulations (design, approval, execution planning, tender preparation, award assistance, site supervision, and documentation). Phases 1 and 2 have already been completed. The modernisation will create a contemporary and functionally optimised ward, designed to meet the specific needs of neurological early rehabilitation patients. Key considerations include short distances for care and therapy, clear orientation within the ward, and a therapeutically supportive environment. The reorganisation of functional areas will streamline operational processes and improve the quality of stay for patients. This initiative is a crucial step in the future development of the hospital site, with no expansion of the building footprint. The planning must also adapt existing building services and fire protection to the new uses, ensuring energy efficiency, sustainability, operational safety, ease of maintenance, and climate adaptation. All planning must be coordinated with other specialist planners and the hospital's operational requirements, ensuring continuous service during construction.
