Wohnungsgesellschaft Erkner mbH is undertaking a significant renovation and modernisation project for the residential block at Friedrichstraße 14-18 in Erkner, Germany. The initiative involves comprehensive general planning services for the 54-unit building, which spans approximately 3,053 square metres of living space. Key aspects of the project include architectural design for the building and interiors, structural engineering, and planning for technical building equipment, along with outdoor facilities. Additionally, the appointed general planner will be responsible for building physics, civil engineering, and fire protection planning. The project, estimated to cost around 8.8 million EUR for construction, aims to partially expand existing apartment layouts, drawing on lessons from a recently completed adjacent block. A crucial challenge for this project, scheduled from March 2027 to May 2029, is that all renovation and conversion works will be executed while the building remains fully occupied. The scope also extends to complete approval planning, building application submissions, support for funding applications, and engagement with residents, alongside various technical investigations into hazardous materials and structural integrity.
