Laois County Council is appointing a single service provider, an urban planning-led multi-disciplinary design team, including a Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP), for the Mountrath Town Centre Public Realm Improvement Scheme. The project encompasses initial stages (i) to (ii b), which involve developing a Town Spatial Strategy for Mountrath, detailed Town Centre Design focusing on a specific area, and Developed Design and Planning (Part 8). The selected team will deliver design documents, drawings, surveys, and reports for future use. Subsequent project stages, including detailed design, tender action, contract award, construction, and handover, will be subject to a separate tender process and dependent on future funding availability. The scheme aims to introduce new public realm designs, including nature-based solutions, increased biodiversity, and active travel infrastructure for the town centre, promoting accessibility for all.
