Lutherstadt Wittenberg, a city rich in Reformation history and home to four UNESCO World Heritage sites, is hosting the 6th Saxony-Anhalt State Garden Show in 2028. The event, themed “Garden Show in World Heritage”, focuses on the Kuhlache area, which serves as a vital landscape and exhibition space connecting the historic old town with the Elbe river. The current tender involves the continuation of the preliminary design (phases 1 and 2 of HOAI 2021) into phases 3 to 9 for the Kuhlache Ost section. This revitalisation project covers approximately 25,500 m², aiming to create a high-quality, permanently usable landscape park. During the State Garden Show, Kuhlache Ost will form the core for horticultural presentations and visitor attractions, requiring a design that builds upon existing planning foundations, spatial concepts, and documented design principles.
