Espacio recreativo Rheinaue, Dormagen
La ciudad de Dormagen, en Alemania, está desarrollando una nueva zona recreativa a lo largo del Rin, mejorando la conexión de la ciudad con el río y creando diversos espacios públicos. Fecha límite: 02 de octubre de 2026
The 'Erlebnisraum Rheinaue Dormagen' project is a key initiative within Dormagen's urban development strategy, aiming to revitalise the city centre and improve its integration with the Rhine. Located southeast of the city centre, accessible on foot, the site features valuable open spaces along the riverbank and on an elevated area offering panoramic views. The project seeks to create an experiential space that captures the unique characteristics of the location, translating them into a compelling landscape architectural concept. The newly designed public realm will combine recreational quality, opportunities for movement, play, nature experiences, scenic viewpoints, ecological enhancement, and improved accessibility to the Rhine. The design approach will avoid extensive over-shaping of the site, instead fostering a nuanced interplay between intensively used zones, tranquil natural areas, and protected habitat regions. To achieve a broad spectrum of solutions and an optimal planning outcome, the City of Dormagen is launching a two-phase landscape planning realisation competition, which will form the basis for subsequent open space planning and construction.
