The project involves extensive energy renovation and rehabilitation of the summer pool at Piscine du Wacken in Strasbourg, France. The Eurométropole de Strasbourg aims to significantly reduce the facility's energy consumption and restore the currently unusable summer basin. Key interventions include installing photovoltaic panels, extending heating system insulation, upgrading to LED lighting, improving changing room partitioning, modifying the main building's hot water production for winter use, and replacing heating circulation pumps. Further works involve insulating storage and water treatment areas, and modernising HVAC and water treatment system automation. Beyond energy efficiency, the project also addresses functional and safety aspects, such as rehabilitating the summer pool by relocating and replacing technical installations, transforming the old technical building into storage, and enhancing overall safety and accessibility, including accessible footbaths and new alert systems. Additionally, the scope includes expanding and improving recreational spaces with new aquatic games and transforming the beach soccer pitch into another play area, creating a modern and efficient public swimming facility.
