Welcome to Beedier – a message from the team
What is Beedier, why did we set it up and what do you have to gain from it? We explain the ethos and strategy for the platform
Marketing, business development and communications for any sector is very specific. While there are constants that apply from sector to sector, and across regions, the actual detail of the work can be niche. Successful business development requires knowledge of these specifics, which takes time to research. Large companies have the resources to pay people to do this research for them, so that they are always up to date with potential opportunities. In essence, Beedier is an attempt to level the playing field – for a very modest cost, every subscriber will have access to the same information.
Making tender proposals for public work in the UK for instance, is not the same as bidding in France, Germany, or the United States. Likewise, the nature of the design press, the range of architectural awards that are on offer, and networking events that are available within a reasonable distance, are all distinguishable. With the exception, perhaps, of social media, which has the potential for a much more global reach – but can also be hyperlocal.
We have worked with architects for over 25 years, for practices large and small, and have assembled a team of focussed and enthusiastic professionals who will busy themselves around this task, on your behalf. We are already committed to providing subscribers with current information on tenders, awards, and events – saving you many hours of research and ensuring that you never miss a thing. If you are a Beedier subscriber – then we are already on your team.
Tenders
Our list of public tenders is currently focussed on projects in the UK and Ireland, although we are planning to extend this to include the rest of Europe and beyond. Our list is different to any other you will find online, as we go the extra mile to extract the information that is useful, including good quality project descriptions, project costs, team composition, and entry requirements. This information will be presented in a consistent way for ease of communication.
Awards
We are tracking over 200 Architectural Award schemes and adding to the list every week. We firmly believe that there is a potential award out there for any studio or project of quality, regardless of scale, typology, or design approach. We will publish the awards as soon as they have been launched, so you will never miss an opportunity. And again, we thoroughly research these awards, and present detailed information including submission criteria.
Events
There are many opportunities to get out of the office for fact finding and networking. Beedier are building relationships with event organisers, and reporting on the events that we think will be of interest to architects. We are aiming for our list to be the most extensive available online, and expertly curated. We will attend a selection of the events ourselves, and report back, so you have an insight into their potential relevance for your business.
Latest Stories and Insights
The “Latest” feature of the platform will offer useful and focussed articles on issues relating to Business Development for architects. We are soliciting feature articles from other marketing and communications professionals, with a focus on strategy, and technical innovation. We will also use this space to report back to you on some of our own research, product reviews, as well as interviews with other architects who have engaging stories relating to their own business development – and lessons learned.
Beedier Diary
Every subscriber has access to their own Beedier Diary, where you can easily add the deadlines for all tenders, awards, and the dates for events. If you see something of interest, then just add it to your diary, so you can track potential marketing activities and plan accordingly.
Social Media Zeitgeist
We regard this as our innovative flagship feature. We have been tracking social media performance within the industry and will report back with a quarterly “league table” of movers and shakers. We would like you to regard this as something that is potentially useful for your own social media strategies, putting your own performance in context with your competitors, but it is also a bit of fun! We will generate industry stats on social media and talk directly to the companies that are using it successfully to grow their notoriety and business.
This is what we are already providing, but as the Beedier community grows, we have great plans for future features. We hope you will help us to realise the potential of the Beedier platform and grow with us too.
