Medieval Castle Restoration, Creully-sur-Seulles
The city of Creully-sur-Seulles, in France, seeks a lead design team to restore and safeguard its medieval château through a negotiated multi-year services framework appointment process.
The Municipality of Creully-sur-Seulles in Normandy is appointing a single multidisciplinary design team through a negotiated two-stage framework agreement to lead the long-term restoration and conservation of the Château de Creully-sur-Seulles, a prominent medieval landmark overlooking the Seulles valley. Set within a historic walled enclosure that includes former stables and landscaped grounds, the project forms part of a wider strategy to safeguard the château’s architectural heritage through phased repair works, specialist surveys, and ongoing technical oversight.
The initial operational programmes include the restoration of the north façade, the transition wing and the “BBC Tower”, supported by complementary structural and archaeological investigations to prioritise future interventions. The appointed team will deliver full architectural and engineering services (covering heritage studies, repair methodologies, cost planning, and construction monitoring) across multiple work packages planned between 2027 and 2030, with an estimated overall works envelope of approximately €2.6 million (excluding VAT).
