The project involves the adaptive reuse, conservation and internal renovation of the former Bank of Ireland, a protected structure located on Main Street, Rathkeale. The brief seeks to create a multifunctional enterprise hub and community space including co-working areas, office units, training rooms, civic and cultural space, and a podcast studio, with associated public realm upgrades and redevelopment of the large rear garden extending to Thomas Street. The project is funded through the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund and forms a key element of the Rathkeale Town Centre First Plan, responding to community needs identified through local consultation and supporting economic regeneration, footfall growth, social inclusion and placemaking.
