Bruilles Business Park Expansion, Escautpont
Open tender seeks a lead design team to deliver masterplanning and infrastructure for expanding the Bruilles business park in Escautpont, France.
Located on the former mining lands of northern France, the Extension of the Bruilles Business Park in Escautpont represents a new chapter in the ecological and economic renewal of La Porte du Hainaut. The project, led by the regional authority, aims to transform a post-industrial landscape into a dynamic and sustainable hub for business and innovation. Building on the first phase of redevelopment, which introduced a business hotel and a network of serviced plots, this new extension will deliver a sequence of roads, green corridors, and serviced parcels that promote biodiversity and low-carbon mobility. The design focuses on reimagining the park’s entrance and public spaces, embedding green infrastructure, cycle routes, and resilient water systems into the urban fabric.
Balancing development with environmental sensitivity, the scheme integrates stormwater retention basins, vegetated swales, and tree-lined pedestrian networks that frame new plots for local enterprises. It incorporates extensive ecological measures developed in partnership with the Conservatoire of Natural Spaces of the Hauts-de-France region, supporting protected species and restoring natural habitats. Beyond its environmental ambitions, the project serves as a tool for social and economic regeneration, creating employment opportunities and reinforcing the territorial identity of Escautpont. Designed as a “premium business park”, the extension embodies a new model of regional development, one that reconciles industrial heritage, landscape memory, and sustainable urban futures.
