BRIT School Masterplan
A strategic masterplanning commission to guide the long-term redevelopment, refurbishment and potential expansion of The BRIT School campus in Croydon.
The BRIT School is procuring a multi-disciplinary design and technical advisory team to develop a long-term strategic site masterplan for its campus in Croydon, South London. The work will establish a 20+ year vision for the school estate, addressing constrained site conditions, ageing infrastructure and the need for expanded specialist facilities for performing and creative arts education. The commission is structured in three phases: Phase 1 (May–October 2026) will undertake site analysis, feasibility studies and a strategic masterplan (RIBA Stages 0–1); Phase 2 (Nov 2026–Mar 2027) will develop outline design proposals to RIBA Stage 2 with a costed development strategy and funding narrative; and Phase 3 (Mar–May 2027) will prepare materials to support a fundraising campaign and refine development plans. The project may include refurbishment of existing buildings, upgrades to M&E systems and accessibility, and potentially a new building to support additional teaching, rehearsal and performance facilities.
