Boskovice Library
Open design competition to convert a post-war two storey retail building into a new town library for Boskovice in Czechia.
The City of Boskovice is inviting architects and consultants to make a proposal for the renovation of this well located building in the centre of the town, in a single-phase open design competition. The subject of the architectural competition is a proposal to change the completed building in the form of structural modifications to former department store on Kpt. Jaroš Street, including the adjacent areas of the yard and the related transport and technical infrastructure for the purpose of building the city library. Part of the proposal also includes the solution of part of the adjacent public spaces.

Submission Criteria
Submissions for the competitive design proposal will be in three parts:
1. Graphic Part (on three panels 700x1000mm)
– site plan 1:1000
– ground plan, sections and elevations 1:200
– abstract concept diagrams
– formal depiction
– typical facade drawings 1:20
– perspective view of the exterior and interior proposals
2. Text Part (4 x A4 pages)
– title page
– abstract in 500 words
– reduced depiction of panels
– completed table of design parameters
3. Team
– data on the competition participants
– name and address
– signed copyright agreement
– sworn statement
– extracts from registers
– confirmation of authorisation
– preliminary bid prices for all basic phases FS1-FS6 and the development of project documentation
