Västra Götalandsregionen's property management division, Västfastigheter Bygg och Förvaltning, is seeking architectural consultancy services for a substantial upgrade at Uddevalla Hospital in Sweden. The project involves the comprehensive renovation and new construction of a state-of-the-art operating department. This significant undertaking will encompass the creation of new operating rooms, alongside essential supporting functions such as a dedicated sterilisation unit, a pre-operative area, and a modern recovery unit. Initial estimates suggest a renovation area of approximately 2900 square metres and a new build of around 8300 square metres. The selected architect will be responsible for the programming and system stages of the project, laying the groundwork for the facility's future. There are also potential options for the scope to extend into detailed design, the production of construction documents, and ongoing support throughout the construction phase, which could run until 2033, ensuring a complete and integrated delivery of the hospital's enhanced surgical capabilities.
