The San Juan Unified School District is commissioning a specialist to provide crucial design and construction document review services for the new Sylvan gym project. This role involves a thorough constructability review, utilising BIM LOD 350, to ensure clarity, consistency, coordination, adherence to schedule and budget, and effective phasing. The selected entity will produce a formal Constructability report after the initial DSA submission and perform backchecks once the design team addresses comments, prior to final DSA approval. Collaboration with district staff, the architect, and the construction manager is key, with the specialist also contributing expertise on construction methodologies and detailing to align with the project's design objectives. They will also involve the building design team in the preconstruction process for site adaptation approvals, ensuring a smooth transition from design to build.
