Lugares de Cama de UCIP, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin
Beaumont Hospital in Ireland is expanding its critical care capacity by adding six new ICU bed spaces through the reconfiguration and refurbishment of existing facilities. This project aims to strengthen critical care resilience and enhance operational flexibility within the hospital. Deadline 27 May 2026.
Beaumont Hospital, a principal teaching hospital for the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, is undertaking a programme of works to increase its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) bed capacity. The project involves delivering six additional ICU bed spaces, along with necessary ancillary accommodation, by reconfiguring and refurbishing existing hospital space. This initiative will bolster critical care resilience, improve operational flexibility, and support the safe and sustainable delivery of acute services at the hospital. The scope includes multi-disciplinary design team services for both the new six-bed ICU development and the relocation of Day of Surgery Admission (DOSA) and staff facilities. An existing area, approximately 340m2, currently housing DOSA and staff changing facilities, will be reconfigured for the new ICU. An advance enabling works package will be required to provide alternative accommodation for the relocated DOSA offices and staff changing facilities. A feasibility study will be conducted as part of the design team services to identify the most suitable alternative locations within the hospital campus, potentially including up to three layout options for client approval.
