The Town of Darien requires professional architectural and engineering services for a comprehensive investigation and structural analysis of the existing bathhouse deck at Weed Beach. The primary objective is to determine whether the current deck can be repaired or if a complete replacement is necessary. Should replacement be recommended, the selected firm will propose suitable methods and materials, ensuring the new structure is attractive, low-maintenance, durable, and capable of enduring significant public use and the challenging coastal conditions. The design must adhere to FEMA, CT DEEP, ADA, and all other applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The scope includes a detailed structural analysis, a written report of findings, and recommendations that consider ADA, FEMA, and flood regulations, particularly substantial improvement requirements. Experience with FEMA and flood zones is highly valued for this project.
