Ricostruzione del centro sportivo, Suresnes
Restricted architectural competition for the reconstruction of a municipal sports centre in Suresnes, France, testing how a major civic sports facility can be replaced while supporting long-term community use.
The City of Suresnes is procuring architectural and engineering services through a restricted design competition for the demolition and reconstruction of the Raguidelles Sports Centre. The commission concerns the replacement of an existing municipal sports facility and will lead to the award of a subsequent services contract to one of the competition winners. Rather than simply replacing an ageing building, the competition tests how a new public sports facility can respond to contemporary civic expectations while accommodating the functional demands of a municipal sports programme. The architectural challenge lies in reconciling demolition and redevelopment within an established urban setting, delivering a coherent replacement facility capable of supporting long-term public use.
