The City of Rancho Cordova is undertaking an ambitious adaptive reuse project, converting a two-building office campus into a dynamic community and cultural centre. This initiative aims to create a central destination supporting a wide range of public-serving uses, including arts and culture, community gatherings, educational programmes, technology and innovation hubs, and spaces for nonprofit collaboration. Following preliminary planning and feasibility studies that established the city's vision, potential programming, and initial design concepts, a multidisciplinary design team is now sought to advance the project. The chosen consultant will be responsible for developing a coordinated, feasible, and cost-informed schematic design. This will involve close collaboration with City staff, existing project consultants, technical experts, and crucial community stakeholders, as well as potential programming and operating partners. The primary objective is to validate the proposed programme and deliver a comprehensive schematic design within approximately four months of the Notice to Proceed, laying the groundwork for a significant transformation within the community.
