Koleje Śląskie sp. z o.o. is undertaking a major design and build project for a new technical facility in Gliwice, Poland, located at ul. Bojkowska 39. The facility will be dedicated to the maintenance and servicing of railway rolling stock. The extensive scope of work includes the preparation of comprehensive design documentation, covering detailed conceptual designs, demolition plans, building permits, executive designs, cost estimates, and technical specifications for construction and acceptance. The project also requires as-built and operational documentation, shunting yard regulations, fire safety scenarios, and roof snow removal instructions. Construction works encompass preparatory tasks, demolition of existing structures, securing the site, ancillary works, and site clean-up. The new facility will feature internal installations such as water-sewerage, central heating, mechanical ventilation, compressed air, electrical, and telecommunications systems. Site development includes pedestrian paths, an internal road, parking, a sand silo, and fencing. Furthermore, the project involves the demolition of existing technical infrastructure, construction of external installations (water-sewerage, rainwater drainage, electrical, external lighting, telecommunications, and railway traffic control systems), reconstruction of conflicting existing utilities, building new connections, and the construction of a new track system and traction network. The project is planned for implementation in two stages, with a total duration of 25 months, aiming for completion by 2 November 2028. This initiative is partially financed by EU funds under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
