Mid-Continent Public Library (MCPL) is seeking architectural and engineering firms for professional design services related to roof replacement projects at four of its branches. The work encompasses the Camden Point, Dearborn, Edgerton, and Excelsior Springs locations. The project's core involves evaluating existing roof conditions and designing new Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) roofing systems, which will be installed as an overlay over the current structures. Three of the branches currently feature 2-ply Derbigum modified bitumen roofs with a granular surface. The Excelsior Springs branch, however, has a standing-seam metal roof with a small existing TPO section. Additionally, the Excelsior Springs branch will receive new coloured gutters to improve drainage and prevent sidewalk icing during winter. The selected firm will provide comprehensive architectural and engineering services, including project design, development of construction documents, bidding assistance, construction-phase inspections, commissioning, and final project closeout.
