This initiative involves the comprehensive renovation of a 40-hectare wildlife enclosure and the concurrent establishment of a new National Park Gate for the Hunsr\u00fcck-Hochwald National Park. The wildlife enclosure, originally founded in 1967, was previously operated by Hunsr\u00fcckverein e.V. until the end of 2023. As of January 2024, the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, represented by the Nationalparkamt Hunsr\u00fcck-Hochwald, assumed operational responsibility, having acquired full ownership in 2023. Many parts of the facility are now in urgent need of refurbishment. The project encompasses the technical renovation and expansion of existing operational buildings, alongside a substantial renewal of the wider enclosure area.
