The project involves the extensive renovation and modernisation of a vocational school building wing in Pegnitz, Germany, originally constructed in the early 1980s. This specific section of the school houses gastronomy, kitchen, and administrative areas and currently remains largely in its original structural state, having only undergone basic maintenance. The refurbishment is critical due to the building's age, its outdated condition, and the fact that key components of the building envelope, including the roof, facade, windows, and the escape balcony, have reached the end of their lifespan. The initiative addresses significant deficiencies in the building's energy performance, structural integrity of the roof and escape balcony, fire safety, and accessibility, which are all below current standards. Furthermore, the existing room layouts and technical installations, particularly in the kitchen and teaching areas, no longer meet modern educational and technical requirements. The comprehensive scope of work includes a complete renewal of the building envelope, extensive energy modernisation to meet current legal standards, a functional reorganisation of internal spaces, an upgrade of technical building equipment and specialised teaching facilities, remediation of structural and fire protection issues, pollutant removal, and the installation of a new passenger lift to ensure full accessibility. The overarching goal is to achieve a sustainable, functionally optimised, and energy-efficient learning and working environment fit for future educational needs, improved operational efficiency, and enhanced safety.<\/p>","calendar_date":"20261013","intro":"
