Kirchengemeinde Heilig Kreuz in Augsburg is planning the comprehensive restoration of the Holy Cross Church, a significant Baroque evangelical church built in 1652\/1653. Recognised as a national monument and a \"European Peace Church,\" the building has been under static observation due to structural damage requiring urgent attention. Following emergency stabilisation measures completed in November 2024, the second phase of the project will address critical repairs. This includes the restoration of the roof truss, renovation of the eaves support structure, repairs to the sacristy roof and bell tower, and work on the cellar ceiling. Additionally, drilling, grouting, plastering, and interior and exterior repainting of the masonry are planned. The project aims to commence planning in January 2027, with construction starting in late October 2027 and targeting completion by December 2028.
