The project involves delivering six additional ICU bed spaces, along with necessary ancillary accommodation, by reconfiguring and refurbishing existing hospital space. This initiative will bolster critical care resilience, improve operational flexibility, and support the safe and sustainable delivery of acute services at the hospital. The scope includes multi-disciplinary design team services for both the new six-bed ICU development and the relocation of Day of Surgery Admission (DOSA) and staff facilities. An existing area, approximately 340m2, currently housing DOSA and staff changing facilities, will be reconfigured for the new ICU. An advance enabling works package will be required to provide alternative accommodation for the relocated DOSA offices and staff changing facilities.
